Many thanks for your beautiful voice. You are blessed by the Lord to keep the memory of Dame Vera Lynn alive. I was glad to receive your cd in good shape. Hello Jill, Just to congratulate you on two fine concerts in Thetford last weekend. The Sunday afternoon crowd in the square were roasting in the sun but they enjoyed your set. Those who had tickets for Saturday were very lucky. The whole weekend was good fun. I didn’t remember that it was from your site that I got your CD. but I found your site easily enough. I’ll have to get better 1940’s kit if I’m to go to another event you have listed this Summer/Autumn. I’m looking at ROUGHAM AIRFIELD Bury St Edmunds. Do you think it’ll be a good one? Jim

Dear Jill I know it has been a long time coming but I would like to thank you for entertaining us all at my parents Diamond Wedding Anniversary on the Island. I have to say your performance was outstanding and what a personable charisma you have, even the Major plays a jolly good part! Mum and Dad, Jean and Charlie were over the moon, to see them both that evening was as if the years had drifted away. Mum had had a stroke 12 months before and I don’t think anyone thought they would ever see her dance again. We play your “Hits of the Blitz” CD regularly in our restaurant, its very popular with all young and old and receive a mountain of requests to purchase so hope you’ve had some orders. Once again Jill our heartfelt thanks for a superb performance and making a celebratory weekend finish with a BANG!!!!!!!
Kind Regards to you and the Major

Flight Lietenant Albert Edward Gregory 90th Birthday
Dear Jill, Just to let you know that Albert appreciates very much your good wishes. We had a great day, someone made a cake with a Blenheim on it and the 219 squadron crest, and through a bit of skulduggery on my behalf I managed to get letters of congratulations sent from the Air Chief Marshall, Mayor of Derby, Lord Tebbitt and Prince Charles. He’ll have to wait to make it to 100 before he gets one from the Queen! Theres a pretty good chance of that, he’s still very active, fit and well
Thanks again Nick Gregory

Hi Jill and Lewis just a quick email to thank you for a great night at Keyingham they all had a good knees up. You could be hearing from us again as there is talk of putting on a show for the village as a chartity night because it went down that well.
Kind regards Graham and family
Dear Ms. Daniels,
I just happened upon your website this morning. I am a United States Sailor and am far from my home and my family, but your songs bring me so much closer to where I wish I could be. When I was a kid my grandparents and my parents would sing some of the same songs I heard on your website. They are such great songs! Thank you for what you do and keep up the great music. Very respectfully, Robert.
Philip L. Griffiths, Chairman Shustoke Parish Hall Committee.
It was Friday 27th October 2006 that you visited us over at Shustoke Parish Hall and entertained us so wonderfully well that the villagers have not stopped talking about it yet.
On behalf of the Hall Committee and all those attending, may I say a very big thank you for coming and entertaining us, especially as it was only a few hours before that you had returned from Dar Es Salaam, and were somewhat jet lagged. We will invite you again to Shustoke I know we will have a sell out event if you agree to return.
Thank you so much for my CD. (04/10/2006)
It brought back many memories. My wife [ she passed away in January 2006 ] would have loved those old songs.
I was in the navy on d-day. “Harbor Lights’really hit me hard, I left my wife on the shore a few times.

God Bless you My name is Nabonazar Cogollo, I am a philosopher and reader from the Universidad Nacional de Colombia. And I study anthems and hymns from all countries of the world. Your Rule Britannia´s version made me cry. It´s too beautiful and sollemnous. I think why that marvellous song is not the UK National Anthem?? During an annual celebration of the Colchester Tattoo (1955, prox.) the participant bands of the Royal Navy played a quik version of the Colombian National Anthem, previous auctorization from my government. That was great! and great is the Rule Britannia sang by you. Congrats. May I pay the CD? Thanks
Jill, (26/06/2006) A very big thank you for your contribution to the success of Saturday’s ’40s Day in Alton.
Everyone agreed that it was much more fun than previous events and I heard lots of compliments about your singing. The event received coverage on Meridian news bulletins on GMTV this morning and again on the lunchtime news and the Alton Herald is planning a 2-page spread of photos this week. Attached is a photo my wife took of you – I’m sure you have plenty already but here is another for your collection! Thanks again for making it such a lovely day! — Regards, Vernon Pearce
Thank you for your wonderful website.
I’m providing the music for a radio play “Ruggles of Red Gap” starring Michael York to be performed live in front of an audience in Hollywood, California and recorded for broadcast on XM radio. The director asked me to use “There’ll Always Be An England” for certain scenes and musical bridges and I was not familiar with the song. Finding it on your site was a godsend! Wish you were here in the US so we could work together! Your show sounds wonderful!! Best wishes! Jay

Dear Jill, (14/05/2006)
I have been very fortunate to discover and purchase your Hits of the Blitz CD. I am a local Parish Councillor and we are holding a tea for over 80 yr olds this Saturday to celebrate the Queen’s 80th birthday. We are going to use your CD for the guests to sing along to. However we would desperately like to include Rule Britannia, which of course is not on the CD that we have.
Although I have tried to download it, I do not have sophisticated equipment and therefore, cannot do it properly. My reason for this e-mail is to enquire whether you have a recording that can be bought and,if so, if there is any way I can obtain it by Saturday? I would be grateful for an urgent reply by e-mail or telephone. Thank you for the fabulous CD that we have. Yours very sincerely. Dorothy Harvey

Dear Jill and Lewis, Just a little note to thank you for an unforgettable evening on Mum and Dad’s anniversary and Mum’s birthday. They were both over the moon and can’t stop talking about it and people that came said how lovely and different it was. Thank you Jill for the extra time you sang – and thank you both for being so lovely. The party would not have had the lovely atmosphere it had without you both. I am sending you a couple of pictures for your scrapbook. I am sure we will see you again next year at George’s 80 birthday (my uncle) Until then look after yourselves and thank you again for making it such a good night. Love from Gill and Jen and family.

I received your CD today and I am very happy with it. I am writing to tell you that I was surprised to see where this CD came from. In the 1960s I lived in Sylvan Way LFE as I was in the County Police Force at the time. I ordered the CD to play at my sister’s 60 wedding anniversary. In 1946 she married an RAF Flight Sergeant Navigator who she met while he was stationed Braunstone and Desford air bases. It really is a small world isn’t it. Thanks for the CD I look forward to playing it to them

However Keith Smithers has now ‘reeled’ them off you might say and there are some particularly good shots of you in concert. Will you please accept the enclosed with the thanks of PEPA wishing you every success for the future with Your excellent show.

I just wanted to write and thank you for your wonderful performance on Saturday night for my 40th Birthday Party. I know it was only a small venue, but your show was terrific.
I have had non-stop compliments about the evening, everyone had a thoroughly good time. Most importantly, my Gran (who turned 92 last week) sang her heart out, bless her and said she had never enjoyed anything so much for a long time. Its thanks to her I have a love of those songs and that era. I spent alot of my childhood singing along with her. I can only thank my best friend Lisa for arranging this “surprise” for me.
All the best,

I have just received your letter with photographs taken at Morecambe Ex-Servicemens Club For the first time in my advancing years I have become a “Groupie” (smiles), but the fact is, and to explain my enthusiasm and appreciation, in my opinion no artiste can compare with the personality and style of your performance – even a thousand times better than dear Dame Vera, which reminds me to tell you that I/we obtained the Fred Vogels Thanksgiving ball video DVD taken at the Ramada hotel Maidsone.
I fully support and appreciate the tributes of people like yourself, as outlined in the End of WWII 60th Anniversary Commemoration leaflet. Having an uncle who returned from WWI army service minus his right arm, and a cousin RAMC para trouper who lost an eye at Arnhem during WWII I shall shortly have developed the film containing several shots taken during the evenings 10 and 11 September and will send copies to you Meanwhile thank you both so much for the entertainment you gave us at Morecambe Ex Servicemens Club, Jack and I couldn’t have enjoyed it more.
Sincerely Jean and Jack

I just wanted to write and thank you for helping to make our VE night such a memorable occasion. You really managed to create a fabulous atmosphere and some of the photographs taken show how much people enjoyed themselves. Even I was caught on camera waving a flag! You set the scene perfectly for the hand over to Chris Smith and by doing those few numbers together the hand over between the two of you was seamless. Many thanks for your quick response, I look forward to listening to your CD. It’s nice to know that there is someone out there who keeps the ‘British Bulldog’spirit

Hello Jill. Stan & I, The Past Its (Well & Truly) followed you on stage today.
I just want you to know that I enjoyed your show. All the old war songs took me back to the 1940s. I was 11 years of age when the war started so it all played a very important part in my life. When I was 16, and at a difficult time of development, my brother was killed after the Normandy Invasion. He left behind his wife and two children: 1 and 3 years of age.
It was a terrible period of my life. I thought of my brother as you were on stage. You looked as if you thoroughly enjoyed singing all the old songs. Many, many thanks. And thanks for the photo, I will use in the next George Formby Newsletter. Cheers, Stan Evans.

Our warmest thanks to you and Lewis for helping to make dad’s party go off so well. Everyone is raving about it, the food, the company and of course the entertainment! We all had a great evening and one that will be remembered for such a long time. I am so glad I found your website and were able to book you for the night. You went down a storm and everyone has been asking about you and where I found you etc. We know you were working but really hope you enjoyed the evening too. Have attached a photo of you both with dad and will be able to send a few more just as soon as I have been through them all. Some of the photos are brilliant, showing everyone waving flags etc -really colourful and patriotic.
All the best for now.
Thank you so much for writing me back. I know how busy you must be. I am not very good at searching the internet. I am glad I found your link. Jill, you have a beautiful voice. God really blessed you. Nobody can sing that song like you. The song will be on the message board for our little pageant girls to hear. You will be singing, oh you beautiful doll to them.
The sample is up there now and I will order the CD from you if you will be kind enough to tell me US dollar and shipping amounts, and then we will add it to the website with credit to you.
